&lt;p&gt;Well&amp;#8230;I haven&amp;#8217;t been slacking at all, don&amp;#8217;t worry.  I&amp;#8217;ve been right on schedule with my running and working on increasing my time. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I have workstudy in our gym here from 6-8am on MWF.  Crazy, I know, but it&amp;#8217;s really not that bad.  I run in the morning, come back to my room, shower, nap, eat breakfast with my boyfriend, relax for another hour, and then go to 1-2 classes depending on the day.  Then I&amp;#8217;m done by 1&amp;#8230;and then I nap if I want.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So today I&amp;#8217;m super excited because I ran 2 miles in 26:13 minutes, my fastest time yet!!!  That may seem super slow to some people but to a girl who has been running 2 miles in 30+ minutes, it&amp;#8217;s awesome.  The past 4 runs I have gotten my time under 30 but this has been the best.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Now I&amp;#8217;m just sitting in my towel relaxing a bit.  I&amp;#8217;ll probably climb up to my bed and nap for an hour before breakfast.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Everything is going well but&amp;#8230;all I want is cookout&amp;#8230;it&amp;#8217;s hard.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Nicole went running with me today.  She told me I’m not as slow as I think I am…that made me feel better.  I was supposed to run 2 miles and i got to 1.5 and my back started hurting pretty bad so we walked the rest of the way…and by rest of the way I mean to Pagoda to get thai food.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I couldn’t even run the whole 3 miles…I had to pause and walk some of it because I was just SO tired I had to take breaks.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;fail.&lt;/p&gt;

When my alarm went off at 6:45 this morning my body just laid there not moving...</title><description>&lt;p&gt;Mind: 1 Body: 0&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When my alarm went off at 6:45 this morning my body just laid there not moving telling me &amp;#8220;don&amp;#8217;t run, don&amp;#8217;t run, don&amp;#8217;t run&amp;#8221;.  My mind didn&amp;#8217;t like this though, I had an argument in my head that went something like this:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Body: Shanna, please don&amp;#8217;t go run, I&amp;#8217;m tired and we can sleep for a whole other hour and 15 minutes if you let us.  PLEASE?!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Mind: That sounds really nice but if we don&amp;#8217;t go run you&amp;#8217;ll just feel guilty all day long and complain about how you didn&amp;#8217;t run and not be able to do anything about it&amp;#8230;or you can run later.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Body: I can just skip a day, it&amp;#8217;s okay&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Mind: If you skip a day then you have to get up at around 6 to run.  You don&amp;#8217;t want to do that.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Body:&amp;#8230;UGH, fine!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It’ so freaking hot out this morning.  I just came back from my 2 mile run, dripping with sweat and downing some ice water.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;img align="middle" src="http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l56rgkNQJi1qzz9aj.jpg"/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Seriously though, so hot!  I went so slow today which in a way is good because I came back in about 30 minutes, hopefully that means I go faster than that when I’m not feeling slow.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I can’t remember if I already wrote my new running plan on here and I’m too lazy to look so I’ll write it again:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Monday - 3 mile run&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tuesday - rest day&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Wednesday - 2 mile run&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Thursday - rest day&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Friday - 2 mile run&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Saturday - 2 mile run&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Sunday - rest day&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;(okay this sweat dripping off of my face is really gross)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So yeah, that’s the new plan.  I’ll be on this for a while until I get more comfortable with that 3 mile run.  The challenge will be keeping up with it at school.  I can’t give up, I’ve come so far.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I’m going to go take care of this sweat and make me some breakfast.  Cold shower, here I come!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description><link>http://thejoggerblogger.tumblr.com/post/780796006</link><guid>http://thejoggerblogger.tumblr.com/post/780796006</guid><pubDate>Wed, 07 Jul 2010 07:48:36 -0400</pubDate></item><item><title>3 Miles</title><description>&lt;p&gt;I did it&amp;#8230;I ran 3 miles, and it was the hardest run yet!  I ran there (.5 miles) and ran around the track 8 times (2 miles) that way if I didn&amp;#8217;t think I could make the 3 miles I would just walk home.  Instead I thought I would try it.  I was so tired and ran that last half mile really slowly but i pushed through.  It was SO hard.  I was also very dehydrated because I stupidly didn&amp;#8217;t bring any water with me.  I almost passed out when I got in the door and had to hold on to the counter while i used every last bit of energy i had to reach for a glass and fill it with ice water. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;After about 2 tall glasses of water and a good 15 minutes, I finally caught my breath and was able to take a shower.  I ordered some food (chicken pad kana: chicken and thai broccoli in a garlic oyster sauce) and now I&amp;#8217;m just relaxing.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My knee hurts from that run which isn&amp;#8217;t good.  I&amp;#8217;m going to have to start wrapping my knee when I run or something.  It never hurts during my run but other times it does, it&amp;#8217;s strange.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I’m waiting for the temperature to go down so I can run 3 miles.  This will be my first attempt at running 3 miles but I think I’m ready for this.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I’m struggling with this whole weight loss thing.  I set a goal to lose at least 20 pounds this summer and I’ve lost nothing.  It’s very discouraging.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I ran 2.5 miles this morning&amp;#8230;that&amp;#8217;s right, I got up at 6:45 and left to go run&amp;#8230;and I loved it.  I can&amp;#8217;t even tell you how awake I am right now and I don&amp;#8217;t even have to leave for another 50 minutes.  I just get to chill and relax and drink some ice cold water (and boy does it taste good)! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So yes&amp;#8230;about my run.  I walked over to the track and ran the 2 miles, which is starting to get boring because I just run around in a circle 8 times.  I wanted to try the 2.5 today but I just couldn&amp;#8217;t bring myself to running around another 2 times.  Instead I just ran home, it&amp;#8217;s conveniently a half a mile to the track and I think I ran faster not being on the track&amp;#8230;interesting.  I got to the front door and stopped and thought I was going to die hahaha.  I grabs my water bottle and filled it with ice and water immediately, sat in front of the air conditioner and took a nice cold shower!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I feel good.  I think this will lead to good things!&lt;/p&gt;

I&amp;#8217;m so pumped, not only did I do that but I took a .25 mile walking break and then ran another .25 miles.  1.75 mile run!  That&amp;#8217;s the most I&amp;#8217;ve done in a long time!  I&amp;#8217;m so excited and proud of myself.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If only results showed faster&amp;#8230;It&amp;#8217;s frustrating.  A part of me wishes I had a scale but another part of me is glad I don&amp;#8217;t.  I&amp;#8217;m hoping when I go back I&amp;#8217;ll get on my wii fit and it&amp;#8217;ll drop drastically&amp;#8230;we shall see.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Since I just got back from running in 88 degree weather, I&amp;#8217;m going to take a nice cold shower&amp;#8230;yep!&lt;/p&gt;
